2010 Fees
Listed below are the 'non-club' fees that are charged to every soccer player. Each club sets their own registration fees to include this charge as well as any additional club fee required to run their own local programs.
Below the list is a brief explanation of what these fees go to, as well as a list of other 'standard' fees that come from the district or other groups.

Soccer NS Fees
These fees go into the Soccer NS budget as general revenues and pay for everything from administration fees (staff/office), training costs, insurance, to Canadiain Soccer Association fees (levied to each player) |
District Fees
District fees primarily pay for our full time regional technical director and part time administrative officer, along with player-coaches development programs and league management. |
Facility Fees
The facility fee is a 5-6 year fee being collected to fund the districts contribution to the new Indoor Sports Complex. The HDSA has committed $100,000 to this $1,749,000 complex, and the HDSA wil own and manage this complex.
* It is recognized that this facility will primarily benefit players from Truro to Antigonish, and as such, Amherst players will not be expected to pay this fee.
* It is also recognized that Pictou county area players make up the majority of our current player base, and as such, will be contributing a larger percentage to the facility fee as well contributing a larger percentage of the rental income.

Other Fees
Highland Soccer League teams also pay a 'team entry fee' and this is expected to be $300.00 for summer teams (the same as 2006). Indoor team fees vary each year, ranging from $750-$1200. |
Indoor Fees
Indoor soccer is a different season, and Soccer Novas Scotia currently charges a $10.000 flat rate fee to all players regardless of category. League Team Fees normally include payment of this fee for a set amount of players (eg 12 per team).
The HDSA collects the District Fee and Facility fee only once a year, so only players who did not register in district in the summer are billed thes fees in the indoor season. |
